The revolts of 1848 strengthened Bakunin's conviction in street action, anti-parliamentarism, barricades, and the need for popular mobilization without political leadership. Along with his friend Alexander Herzen (1812-1870), Bakunin aligned himself with the analyses of Pierre-Joseph Proudhon (1809-1865). At the same time, his debates with Karl Marx (1813-1883) within the International Workers' Association (IWA) led him to formulate strong critiques of political leadership and bureaucracy as forms of domination not only within the state but also in workers' associations.

No Libros is a slow, tired publishing house, doing the best it can. Our project is collaborative. We seek original, critical content that pushes the boundaries of text and image, resulting in unique works, primarily from Latin authors.
