As a longtime cat owner and observer of their fascinating habits and traits, I have been particularly intrigued by the moments when they appear to be dreaming. What do cats dream of, and how does it look? Perhaps, like some of our human dreams, they are surreal and fantastical in their own unique way.

By combining photography with archive images and AI generated art, Catamareum is a visual exploration of the inner world of cats’ dreams. Through these constructed images, I imagine the connections between the human and feline worlds. To reveal daily adventures and capture their ruthless nature mixed with domesticity as it seeps through into their dreams.

Delving deeper into the work, over time, I came to see a nightmarish world of twisted flesh and bone, where sometimes we become the prey and at others we become fused into one seamless entity with the cat.
