1. Text and images concerning the nature of the dreams of cats. ------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can sense fear. I know it’s there, hiding, waiting. But I can wait, oh, I can wait, there is nowhere to flee. Ahhh, it’s dinner time now. Quick as a flash, he’s mine! No time to play, off with his head. Such a warm summer's day, to stretch in the sun and dream of flesh and bone.

Today it’s time to make mincemeat, dinner now and dinner later. Am I awake or am I asleep ? I love the feel of the sun on my face and the smell of the grass. I am so very hungry, I want to eat, I have to eat. Food, food, food, food. Come here, he’s mine. Oh, how sweet. Just like her....Lift your head, don’t worry, I’ve got you, you're safe, you’re mine.

And when I sleep, I think of them, and together we are one in the hunt, me and my prey. Sometimes we stop in the sunshine to enjoy the moment. This is living. It feels like it’s going to last forever.

But I don’t want to be in there, in that closed space, and I’m awake again.

I have a friend, but perhaps it is an enemy. I cannot quite tell anymore. He seems so familiar. He likes me; I like him. We both belong to one another, yet how can that be? I understand him; I understand his language, but I cannot put that together with my individual existence in the infinite. Surely that can’t be possible. Can it?

Could the dream have come from all the blood I spilled last night?

This zine is the predecessor work that led to the Catamareum book, there are some different images and gives an insight into the development process of the concept.
