"DARIÉN", the photobook by Colombian photographer Federico Rios Escobar, documents the harrowing journey of migrants crossing the Darién Gap. This moving photographic narrative captures, over the past several years, the human cost of pursuing the American dream for those traveling from Venezuela, China, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Haiti, and more, on their way to the United States, fleeing the social, political, and economic tensions of their home countries.

"DARIÉN" presents a continuous dialogue of the arduous journey faced by migrants through roads, rivers, páramos, streets, beaches, seas, and jungles. The concrete jungle quickly gives way to a muddy, treacherous wilderness filled with rivers and vipers, where armed human dangers lie in wait. The persistent motivation to continue, even when strength and nourishment are scarce, is the vital desire to reach the dream and embrace their loved ones.
