Morais Soares is a very popular street among the residents of Lisbon. Lively and bustling, this street stands out not only for the large crowds of people that pass through it every day, but also for an aerodynamic spectacle that goes largely unnoticed: the Grand Prix of pigeon races. Through encouraging an imaginative and innocent gaze, this hand-made ensemble brings photography to its youngest spectators, offering them a glimpse into a very unique type of aerial hustle and bustle. The book‘s feathered competitors are seen soaring above the rooftops, rearing their wings at the start line, and setting off for an exciting flight through the much-loved Rua Morais Soares.

About — We'e XYZ Books, a Lisbon based independent publishing house. We focus on publishing high-quality photography books, often featuring the works of contemporary photographers. XYZ Books was founded in 2013. The founders, Tiago Casanova and Pedro Guimarães, are themselves photographers and have used their expertise and passion to create a publishing house that is dedicated to showcasing the best of contemporary photography.

In addition to publishing books, we also organize exhibitions and other events related to photography. The publishing house has gained a reputation for producing visually stunning books that are carefully designed and produced to the highest standards.
