PHILIA is an indexical exploration of paraphilias. The series is formatted as an alphabetical categorization of sexual fetishes and fetishistic disorders spanning from A to Z. Each topic is depicted through denotation and visual interpretation, with the contents of the images built on the psychological foundations of their respective sexual fixations. Stemming from the Lacanian idea of the perverse, this work is an unapologetic view of unconventional sexuality, transcending the social laws that govern our perception of the topic. The series serves to provide insight and definition for inclinations that lie far out of mainstream acceptability or consciousness. PHILIA brings a subject that is often only alluded to head-on into public view.
