PRESSURE is a mixture of zine, artist's book and catalog. The publication combines manually crafted elements and various printing techniques to create a visual narrative that was created in my studio between 2020 and 2025.

The basis is formed by reproductions of screen prints and gel plate prints, which I selected from an extensive archive of a wide variety of motifs - cityscapes, portraits and other visual worlds. I was not interested in faithful reproduction. Many of the original prints work with acrylic colors such as tin, copper or silver, the shimmering effect of which can only be experienced in the original. The offset four-color print, in which this publication was realized, naturally cannot reproduce this - that was not my aim either.

Just as the photographic originals were transformed by the manual printing techniques, the prints themselves were to be transformed once again by the medium of the book. In PRESSURE they appear sometimes full-bleed, sometimes cropped, enlarged, reduced, superimposed or in new combinations - a visual remix that continues to play with the material.

(Christian Reister, May 2025)

18x24cm, 56 pages (12 of which are reduced in size) with a total of 38 illustrations.

PRESSURE is published in a limited edition of 250 numbered, signed and stamped copies. Editions no. 1-100 have a cover with the image of a screen print, while numbers 101-250 have a cover made of grass paper. Both variants are embossed by hand and have lettering elements that were applied by hand using the screen printing process. PRESSURE is stapled with three colored staples on the spine.
