“Suzy” is a quiet response to an image culture saturated with the immediate and the exposed. Rooted in the tradition of fine art nude photography, it reflects on the shifting line between the nude and the naked - between form and display, intimacy and spectacle. Shot on film and printed in newsprint, the work draws warmth from tactile process, evoking softness, atmosphere and a slower gaze. There’s no urgency here, only stillness, tone and body. In an age of endless screens and frictionless consumption, Suzy looks back - romantic, physical, handmade - and invites the viewer to do the same.

About — Plus and Negative is the publishing venture of Dennis Schoenberg, a photographer, videographer and art director. He is renowned for exploring fashion as a means of expressing identity, desire and belonging. It's perhaps no surprise that he spent his youth fascinated by countercultures and the underground. Style and identity lie at the foundation of his work, and his often melancholic photographs remain reflective of his sitter while nuanced enough to provoke thought.

After earning a Master of Arts Degree from Westminster University in London, Schoenberg honed his craft under renowned photographers, assisting Rankin at Dazed Magazine in London, Steven Klein in New York City, and managing Wolfgang Tillmans’ studio in London.
