Libros Walden presents Todo era posible: Revistas underground y de contracultura en España: 1968-1983, a book about the publications that captured, in real-time, the story of an exciting and vibrant era that shaped Spain's popular culture.

In 1968, the idealism of the hippie movement and the May revolts in Paris sparked a spirit of youth revolution worldwide, coinciding in Spain with the relative openness of the late Franco regime. By 1983, the Movida madrileña was being consumed by institutions and businesses, losing its authenticity. Between these two dates, Spain experienced one of its richest cultural periods in music, film, and comics, driven largely by the underground and counterculture spirit. This spirit is best reflected in magazines like Star, Ajoblanco, Ozono, Disco Expres, El Viejo Topo, Bicicleta, Alfalfa, Vindicación Feminista, El Víbora, Dezine, and La Luna de Madrid. These magazines, read by hundreds of thousands of young Spaniards, formed the cultural and life education of a generation. They were characterized by free spirit, boundless idealism, diverse content, and innovation in form—published in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, or Euskadi. Covering rock, psychedelia, punk, photography, film, marginal press, and underground comix, these magazines not only reflected cultural tastes but also a feeling, a way of thinking, a lifestyle, and an idealism that believed creating a new world, a new society, or at least living your way, was possible.

In more than 250 pages, Manuel Moreno and Abel Cuevas showcase the most prominent magazines of that period, shedding light on one of the lesser-known aspects of Spain's extensively studied and exploited Transition. The book makes it clear that the cultural fervor of the time did not emerge from nowhere but had roots and context that are now clearer than ever.

The book is enhanced with a Spotify playlist created by the authors, featuring the bands and artists that filled the pages of the magazines highlighted in Todo era posible.
