Libros Walden brings to Spain Ultrasound, the acclaimed graphic novel by Conor Stechschulte. A thrilling narrative that lies somewhere between Cronenberg and Lynch, it masterfully uses the possibilities of the comic medium to make us constantly question what we're seeing and reading.

Driving home at night during a heavy storm, Glen gets a flat tire in a remote area with no cell service. He knocks on the door of the only house in sight and is greeted by Arthur, a strange middle-aged man, and his attractive young wife, Cyndi. The odd couple offers him a drink, followed by several more, strange confessions, and an unexpected proposition that Glen can't refuse. From there, Ultrasound plunges into a dizzying plot involving mind control, government secrets, gaslighting, and political intrigue, always staying one step ahead of the reader. Who can you trust when reality isn’t what it seems?

Originally published by the prestigious British publisher Breakdown Press and later collected by American publisher Fantagraphics, Ultrasound is one of the best comics of recent years. A fantastic volume of nearly 400 pages, hardcover, printed in five colors, which Conor Stechschulte uses brilliantly to enhance his masterful storytelling, building an impressive puzzle of intrigue that you’ll want to reread as soon as you finish.

Hand-lettered by Abel Cuevas.

Nominated for Best Graphic Novel at the Eisner Awards 2023

"Full of tonal shifts, new revelations, and Lynchian twists that make you rethink what you've previously read." — Comics Beat (100 Best Comics of the Decade)

"A mature and absorbing read that rewards multiple readings. The focus on the unpredictability of memory and perception keeps the reader as off-balance as the protagonists." — Broken Frontier (Nominated for Best Graphic Novel of 2022)

"A 'tour de force' of sophistication where Stechschulte develops a complex visual scheme that includes color variations to represent reality, memory, fantasy, and implanted memories." — Copacetic

"I don't remember being so captivated and immersed in a comic in a long time, a testament to the quality of Stechschulte's storytelling and his ability to communicate through his art." — Gosh
